Hello Simply Soul Family,
As I count down the weeks to my 50th, it has been a journey of reflection, growth, and a lot of learning about myself. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I needed something more than just the usual routines to help me feel centered. That’s when I discovered meditation, not as some complicated practice, but as a simple, powerful way to reconnect with myself. I’ve dabbled in meditation and mindfulness over the years, but I never gave them my full attention. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that I truly leaned in and began to focus on the practice, and that shift has made all the difference.
For me, meditation has been more than sitting quietly with my eyes closed. It’s become a lifeline, a way to quiet the noise around me and hear my own heart again. I’ve learned that it’s not just about finding peace in the moment, but about shaping the way I show up every day, calmer, more focused, and more compassionate with myself and others.

What really opened my eyes was something I read from Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, one of the leading voices on mindfulness. He said:
“It’s not a technique. It’s a way of being in a wise relationship to experience as you find it, and that means pleasant, unpleasant, and even the neutral stuff that you never bother to notice because it doesn’t seem to have a big effect on you.”
That hit home for me. Life isn’t about escaping the hard or chasing only the good; it’s about being present with it all.
The more I leaned into meditation, the more I began to notice little shifts. Moments of clarity when I felt stuck. Bursts of compassion when my heart felt heavy. A steady calm when everything around me seemed chaotic. And a resilience I didn’t know I had, even when life threw its curveballs.
As I embark on this chapter of my life, meditation has become a means of healing for me. It’s given me a space to release the loads I’ve carried for so long, the stress, the worries, the expectations, and to simply breathe. And in those breaths, I’ve found a kind of peace that no one else could give me but myself.

That’s why I want to encourage you all to give yourself those few minutes every day. Sit quietly, breathe deeply, notice what comes up, and let it be. No pressure, no perfection, just presence. You’ll be amazed at how those small moments of mindfulness can lighten your day and soften the edges of life.
So, as I continue this journey, meditation is no longer just part of my routine; it’s part of who I am becoming. And maybe, just maybe, it can become that for you as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today
Xoxo
